Hi Chris, When last in Bali we took old jewellery to be melted down and had new things made at a fraction of the cost here in Perth. If you take your own gold they can join your rings together and give back what they don't use. I had a lovely large gold heart pendant made for $45 using my gold. The jewellery shop is next to the Matahari department store. A very large shop on the corner. I am not sure about the 18ct gold in Bali but if you take your own you can be sure it will be 18ct.
