Monday morning we woke early again (damn the body clock). We got up and had a nice long walk on the beach. Had a wonderful breakfast. Martin had expressed a desire to "swim with dolphins". I did manage to talk him out of the Melka thing and suggest it would be better if we did it in somewhere like Monkey Mia on our next holiday.
We decided to go "down the road" to Tanjung Benoa and do some watersports. We parasailed, rode the big banana, snorkelled, did the scary flying fish ride, even went over to Turtle Island on a boat? that resembled the "African Queen" (from the Bogart movie of the same name).
Very hungry when we got back so we had a BIG seafood feed at the restuarant on the beach there. Went back to our "nest" and had a "special nap" before heading off to Sanur for dinner. A fellow tourist (said his name was Jacob and that he contributes on a forum somewhere about Bali, wouldnt be more specific) told us that the Arena Sports Bar in Sanur did great Steaks. We had a wonderful meal there, and yes the steaks are spectacular as were the frozen Margaritas! So if you are reading this Jacob, thanks for the great tip!
Back to the hotel and had more drinks and then retired for the night.
Tuesday Day 5
We wanted to go to the Waterbomb Park. We found a driver called Ketut, very nice man, who took us to the Waterbomb Park. It was fun and we enjoyed our time. Mid afternoon we had decided we had enough of it so we wandered back into Kuta and tried (dismally) to find the s & s again. Cant bloody well find this place, does it exist? what makes it different from the 300 others that dot the beachfront?
So we went to the Poco Loco for dinner and saw the famous Balinese/Mexican Dwarf/short person with Tequila in the holster.
Tried to walk back to Kuta but got a bit tired. Went through the Puri Raja and asked at the counter if Dennis was in as I was keen to meet him. No, he is not in. Luckily I had a seen a photo of Dennis so I knew what I was looking for, but to no avail.
We went back to our hotel and had another blissful nights sleep.
Day 6
Awake again early and off to the spa that we had booked. What a great day, bath, massage, facial, even had my hair done. Just luxury.
We went back to our hotel and spent the rest of the day around the pool having drinks and snacks bought to us.
We were at the bar area at about 11pm when we got a surprise.
Stella arrived! Yes Martins mum had decided to come to Bali, hence all the questions from her about the VOA and how she seemed to know so much about the place. She got the room next door to us, with an interconnecting door. Luckily I actually like her, so it was nice for all of us.
