we went to thailand last year and really enjoyed it stayed at a couple of places karon beach hotel on karon beach great hotel views from all the rooms over the ocean and also stayed at the ban thai resort in patong also a very nice resort but not on the beach across the road ,if you do go also try and go to phi phi island i loved it stayed at the hoilday inn great for snorkerling the beaches in thailand are much nicer than bali ( patong beach is much like kuta ,legian not that clean) , but bali is still our favorite place for a holiday ... hope you have a great time if you go ... fiona
