Dear Forumites
I am a little worried that the two bottles of duty-free Champagne that my wife and I are allowed to take into Bali will not be sufficient for three weeks. Whilst I am quite happy sinking a few Bintangs, my better half is partial to the French bubbles (and we know how important it is to keep our better halves happy - happy wife = happy life).
From what I have read on this forum and on others, it seems that stores such as Bali Deli stock a reasonable range of Champagne, but are quite expensive.
Q1) Can anybody give me a rough idea of Bali Deli's prices for the entry level French bubbles (e.g. Moet, Veuve, Louis Roderer)?
Q2) Can anybody recommend other stores in Bali to buy Champagne (and Aussie whites) at more reasonable prices?
Q3) Does anybody have experience taking over significant quantities (say a carton - 12) of bubbly/wine (and declaring them)? If so, what is the duty (or does it depend on the customs official, i.e. should I declare them and leave some cash in the passport which I hand him? Or are there fixed prices?
I am not interested in taking them in and not declaring them. If we are to take them (asuming they cannot be bought in Bali for similar prices), then I want to do it the right way.
With regards, PPW
