Just back last tuesday, JBR coming, spent the day at Safari and Marine Park with a couple from Newcastle and we had a great day. The park has only been open for about a month and everything was so clean with food and drink stands everwhere, the toilets were 10/10 I kid you not. All of the animals were very healthy looking (except the white tiger cub) which while looking healthy was obviously drugged to the eyeballs so dont go visit the white tigers too early if likely to be distressed at this sight. We went back a couple of hours later and the cub was up and playing.
When first arriving we wandered around the attractions, Elephant ride, Camel ride, held the Macaus, visited with the baby Orang which is named Tsunami, then we boarded the Safari vehicle and were taken around the different compounds to view elephants, zebras, bears, mountain goats, hippos, lions, etc. The vehicle was a/cond and very safe guide on board kept the kids entertained with a couple of surprises and good all round commentary. I was told you can go around twice if you want to sit on the other side of the vehicle but we didnt as we felt we had a good view of all the animals at all times and they are close to the bus as you drive thru.
Now for the best part, take your togs and bikinis as there is the most incredible water playground for adults and kids that will totally blow you away, complete with showers and lockers, and this part of the day alone is worth the visit.
Presently under construction is a Dolphin park and nearing completion are overnight stay double storey cottages.
Sorry, this is almost a JBR for one day. Well worth the visit. Cost, approx 235000Rp. p/adult, not sure how much for kids as we didnt take any. Also about 45 minute drive out there. Hope this helps. BILL.
