I appreciate your disappointment darwingirl and that you did your best to cover the potential for harm. Accept dennisc your advice (if it works infallibly)but I strongly believe that all steps to keep out potentially dangerous parasites?? etc. are worth having. Enough examples of wrong decisions in the past are witness to that. I have once had an object confiscated and put it down to my ignorance. Always declare everything possibly sus however doubtful. Once saw ( at next customs booth)a guy didn't declare some biscuits he had brought in but had originally purchased in Adelaide. Girl came up to inspector I was dealing with and explained the situation. His answer was to throw the book at him.
