No arguments with other replies, just to summarise:
Goods to the value of $300+
Bought on a single docket
Within 30 days of departure
Need a credit card
Have the goods in yr hand baggage as claim point is after customs.
When last I did this, spoke to Myer staff, bought camera equipment, charger, wife got underwear, shoes for me. Myer happy to give a single bill for about $600 for all transactions. Carried all in hand baggage. Guy only asked to see the camera. Full GST refund.
