We go to Bali twicw a year, we are going again 26th Oct, third time within a year.We walk every couple of days to the Bintang supermarket, we timed it from leaving the MBR to the shops and it took us 20mins, but we go early in the morning and not many other shops are open.
You can always flag down a taxi if you think the walk is too far, you will never know if you don't try it.
It probbibly is about one and a half kms, but it's easy to walk that far in 20mins. ihave a tradmill and can walk 3kms in 25mins, so one and a half kms in 20 mins should not be too much of a problem.
