we traveled along ubud main road eastwards and turn left at the big junction. a few more minutes drive and there are many shops by the road selling many, many things. We found shopping here is more relax compared to the market at ubud. a lot of shops here just sell specialty like pottery, light/lamp shade, etc
went to a place called Duckman which has the best wooden painted duck.
U can ask your driver to stop at Sukawati also on the way to Ubud, lots of cheap stuff also but for painting shops in Ubud have better variety.
