Why go out and buy the currency of a country that's not even involved in the transaction and pay unnecessary fees?
If you're Australian, you'll have aussie dollars ready and available and they're more than happy to accept them. The change comes back in the currency of the country you just arrived in. I can't see how it gets any more simple than that.
