He is a family man with a nice bus and can take you around the island sightseeing what you want to look at not what he thinks you should see and thereby getting commisions.
When in Bali you will have many options to book on organized tours or
collect all the pamphletts up, pick out what you wish to do and go it under your own steam.
He can also collect you from the airport and take you to your hotel.
