I stayed on 3 separate occassions at SBV in August. Like everyone below has already said there's lot's of places around to eat/drink. However I also bought drinks or nibbles and kept in the fridge at the SBV.
It's very comfortable sitting around the pool or in front of your room (large bamboo chairs) and having a drink or three. I'm not into the 5 star places so this suited me fine. The SBV is a very relaxing environment, there could be people around or you could be by yourself. Ron (Uncle Fester/Kojak/Angry Anderson) has a wealth of knowledge and interest in Bali and also has a great sense of humour - bad luck he follows the wrong football team (Go the Power on Saturday!!).
I've got a few pics of the place if you want to email me.
