i had one done just over a week a go at tattoo 69 located on jalan legian. i had flames around my arm and a mate had a dragon on his forearm. i went with a fair bit of information down loaded from this site, and we spent a fair bit of time visiting studios to determine who we would use. we picked tattoo 69 because of the attention the owner and tattooist Chavel gave us. he sat down with us and went through the designs we picked and he actually redesigned a design i had brought with me and i am absolutely rapped with the finished product. i would also admit this was the least painful tattoo i have ever had, i do not know if this was to do with the skin apparently being softer while you are in bali or the tattooist. the tattoo cost 2 mil but in all it takes up the length of an A4 sheet of paper about half way across and took about three and half hours. the cost will always depend on what size tat you want. my only advice is there is an awful lot of tat shops in bali, so find one you are comfortable with and make sure the shop owner is the tattooist and is the one doing the tat, a lot of shops use artists that come and go as required, these shops are only there to get you money, not true tattoo artists in my opinion. Chavel was also pretty busy with appointments which is another good sign. also last bit of advice, never go for the cheapest tatto you can find, you only get one chance to get it right. if you need more info let me know. and in regards to the foam parties they are still happening on friday nights if i remember correctly, we actually preferred paddys better because of the live band, but i am sure you will enjoy the bounty as well.
