Is south of airport it is the hill that overlooks the airport down to Kuta etc. Lots of private Villa's etc there, less hot than Kuta.
By Taxi to Seminyak will take you anywere from 40-50mins in peak times to about 15-30min at night and it also depends which way you are travelling. Getting a taxi from there will be a little harder than getting back as it is not as populated as main stream kuta/leg/sem. but you will not have a problem, cost you will look at about 70,000rphs each way give or take 20,000 on time of day. Trafiic is a major factor there for travelling around town before 10am (best)and after 2pm and before 5pm are ok. if the driver takes the by-passes you will be ok. Appx kms hard to stay but about 15km??.
Try and use bluebird taxi's meters are not dodgie, if you can bargin a fare then do it. No etxra charges after dark and i think if yiou are staying in hotel thena small fee is added to fare for phone booking. As for your body boarding you are halfway to some great surfing beaches and depending on the day the waves will suit, kuta has smaller breaks on shore and you can get out to the reef breaks from the beach by boat for next to nothing.
