The Bali Zoo is near Celuk (which is about 40 minute drive from Kuta which probably means nothing to you at this stage) - any driver will know how to get there. Actually if you get yourself a driver for the day, he'll take you to zoo and perhaps to wood carvers where I'm sure you'll find some beautiful pieces to buy. All in all, though - have a great time. I've never stayed in Sanur though have been there - a bit too quiet for us.
