I suppose if you are sitting close you may well end up in the same boat, theoretically but i haven't got much faith in "emergency water landings" myself. You see them go through the routine before take off, waving gracefully towards emergency exits whilst extolling the virtues of staying calm and then, smiling all time, donning their life-jackets and blowing into tubes.
Whilst bored one day I tried blowing into the left over tube from a new year party trumpet and let me tell you smiling is difficult even when not bobbing around in the water after the crash, whoops sorry, emergency water landing. Also, I don't like to whinge but, yellow isn't really my colour anyway. However if yellow is your colour go for it and don't let them tell you you have to leave the turkey and plum pudding behind!!!
