The thing I loved about the "old" Segara village was the way everyone mixed around the pool with the pool bar. People talk these days but back then there was much more camaderie. One day we were there, there was an eclipse of the sun and all the Balinese were told to stay inside. All us Aussies thought the best "inside" place was inside the pool bar. Those were the days of bus tours but I got a driver nad "van" and in the morning would go around the pool telling people where I was going and how much it would cost them. Always got to fill the van. One trip we all had to help change a tyre. From memory I think we all went to his family compound. The other thing we all did was as you left to return to Aussie you passed on your leftover duty free. So many great nights had around that pool as people arrived back dinner etc. mmmmmm the memories.
