we stayed there a few nights in June.
Both villas - shut the door in the main bedroom and the room will be like a fridge if you like, in a couple of minutes.
We are the open door and ceiling fan type people. Although, its going to be hotter in March for you.
There are 3 lanes that lead you out.
The one you would probably use the most leads you to Rum Jungle Road.
I would guesstimate it would take a solid minute to walk it. Yes there is a deep drain on one side. At night there is a light every few metres. It is wide enough for two to walk abreast and if any bikes use it, they are really careful.
My opinion is that it would be unsafe for a toddler - you would definately have to hold their hand or carry them the whole way.
But don't judge the villa by the paths alone.
Any driver knows where you are. Any probs, Merrick or Dewi will ring and explain. Our driver used to park and wander up to meet us so we knew which path he was parked at.
We did have a problem with the upfront payment and bond. Full story on my JBR in June.
As it was our last place to stay - it became a real issue for us as what to do with a few mill rupiah at 10 o clock at night on the way to the airport? There was no way we were bringing it back to Aust to lose big time on currency exchange. We had no idea about this bond and its the only reason we won't stay at VNM again or anywhere else that has this practice. We've stayed at villas before and know we don't have to go thru this sort of stuff.
does that help?
