if you have a definate colour choice & type of fabric in mind.I have gone about 50/50 over the years when I have formal outfits made as far as getting material in Bali or at home.
One of the last outfits I had made I bought the Chantung & lining at Spotlight before I left but then went to Denpasar myself to buy the material for the lace overlay because I could not find the matching colour lace at home.When I went to Denpasar I had numerous choices in different types of pattern laces in the exact colour I wanted but I couldn't see the Chantung in the same colour anywhere so was glad I had taken it with me.I can't sew to save myself but I do like looking for nice fabrics.
I am sure that Aristo would be able to organise samples of materials for you to choose from if you wanted him to get the fabric but I find it fun looking around & picking what I want myself.If you daughter has seen a picture of what she wants made up take that with you & he will be able to work from that.
