to me and I think you can mix and match as you will. I haven't seen any Mao fashions and would suggest you take the fabric on your next trip and get it made by Made from next door to Fatima's. I can't imagine why you would offend anyone but am a little doubtful about all that quilting in such a hot climate so maybe you could just sling it nonchalantly over your shoulder?

The cap however sounds just great. Maybe we could all get them embroidered with our names and a catchy slogan like "Dictators R US".

There is nothing, absolutely nothing, that looks so intellectual as reading Mao's little red book in a coffee shop. Don't let people put you off with talk of past blood letting in a certain country and particularly a certain island in that country and wear your Mao creations with pride. Perhaps a few thousand Rupiah folded in the book cover would be good insurance if you do attract poice attention.

You also may like to look at Tuti's for Terrorists in Seminyak. Very exclusive and a little expensive but she sells some really terrific terrorist inspired togs. Some people think it's a little questionable in taste but hey each to his own.

On a safety note I suggest that while wearing any of the above lines you refrain from carrying a BB gun and letting off fireworks, just this once.
