For the few who are not sure about power adaptors.
Indonesian power receptacles are average 220vAC and accept a plug with two round pins, and what is called an 'earth wiper' strip. Supply can sometimes be unreliable. On Lembongan you can almost guarantee a power failure during the night - requiring you to re-start your air-conditioning. In Kuta, Sanur, Legian etc the power supply is fairly reliable.

If you need to use Oz or NZ appliances in Bali you will need an adaptor. This is a round plastic plug with two round pins on one end and three slots on the other end, suitable for Oz or NZ plugs.

To use, plug the two pin end into the socket and plug the Oz or NZ appliance into the other end. Remember to switch on ! You can use a multi-socket board if you need to use more than one appliance, but you will still need the adaptor plug. If you do use one of these boards, make sure it has an overload trip - usually set at ten amps - that will save you blowing the hotel fuses !!

The adaptors cost about $5 almost anywhere and 4 x boards about $8.

Bear in mind that if you are travelling from the UK or Europe you will need different adaptors to the ones I mention
