Australian comment about what you'd like to do with the kids sometimes. I was just wandering why you took it to heart - I thought it was obvious to someone well versed in English that it was not meant literally.
In Australia the guy would not be thought of as a bad person for saying this or even joking about it. That's why I asked - If you aren't Australian it may be unacceptable to joke about this?
