March is usually quite humid with the chance of some rain, although mainly overnight.
May should be much clearer and less chance of rain with lower humidity.
Lots of forumites use Nicno who lives in Qld, but these days I personally do most of my travel bookings using the internet, so location of office isnt relevant.
