I think the sunlounge problems differs from hotel to hotel, and I have found no problems at the smaller hotels that do not necessarily just cater for international tourists. Even at the larger hotels where I have stayed I will generally give it an hour and then just return their towel to pool hut and use the lounger. A good tip if you are worried about being sat on, just move the lounger to another location around the pool - let them waste their time trying to figure out who the culprit is.
