.. before our last trip (May) (both our families who were with us are into boating / fishing) and checked out most of them but didn't find the gear any cheaper than at home - in fact at home was often cheaper! The only thing we bought were cheap kids life jackets @ $NZ15 (wouldn't use out to sea in a boat because no safety rating but good for just playing around in the pool etc)
