Just got back from 23 nights staying at GVC in a superior room and had no complaints at all. The bed was harder than I'm used to, and so was one of the pillows, but I adjusted after a night or two. Was so tired at the end of each day that I'd have crashed on the floor.
Found the staff to be friendly and helpful.
The pools are not really any different to any other hotel in Bali. Sun lounges never plentiful enough and always people using them. If it wasn't others "hogging them" and you got to use them, someone else may have considered you to be the "hog", did ya think of it that way? :)
Anyway, to each their own. I've never stayed at GVC before and will definitely be back. I usually stay at Melasti but my last stay in 2005 I found the hotel to have gotten too big and the place to be not at all as friendly as it used to be.
I've found my new Bali hotel and I was very happy with it. JBR will come soon, when I get myself sorted out a little better.
