We travelled when our twins where 14 months, and also when they where 2 1/2 and taking them again in October.
Do not take a pram from home, we obtained second hand strollers (which we left behind in Bali). If they broke no problems. try and get own with a cover and take soem muslin wrap which you can put over the top and hime to keep off the sun if and when he sleeps when out.
Try and keep to his routine, sleeps, meal time etc.
Drinking bath water, add dettol or milton tablets to the water. Kills most bugs. Pool water is safe it has been chlorinated.
Take good sunscreen and insect repellant (care with Deet level and children), paediatric pandol.
