PMH Children's hospital in Perth recommend it for any gastro problems and my doctor who is from South Africa recommends it for all travellers as well. I guess it is like everything else if it is not going to harm you, then it doesn't hurt to take it. We have used it for our last 4 trips and it seemed to work for us, but..... we may not have got sick without taking it either so who knows. We will continue to take it with us every trip. Prevention is better that cure for me.
