Flew to Bali on Jetstar economy in August and came back to Melb (via Syd) on Starclass. The advantages are an extra 10kg of luggage (which came in handy), priority luggage check in, free access to a departure lounge at Denpasar Airport (unlimited drinks/food), better (more comfortable) plane seats and no extra charge for drinks, food, the personal entertainment unit and the comfort kit (i.e blanket and socks)on board the aircraft.
After clearing customs in Sydney we came back to Melbourne on a domestic Qantas flight in business class.
Personally I think it was worth the extra cost.
