From the rooms we had, we had to walk to another building then go in a lift down about 12 or so floors to get to the pool level. Once there, it was lovely and the beach was nice. Pool had a slide which the kids enjoyed. Lots of Japanese tourists (well all apart from us) staying as you would expect at The Nikko. It was also quite a way from the village so always had to call cabs to get to restaurants etc. There was nothing within walking distance and no shops! But if you want quiet ... it would be fine.
