yes sorry i didn't include the fact that i rarely give money directly to children. I do it indirectly by giving to an adult who is often with them, or by inviting a group of child beggars out for a meal ( they often know each other) or money to children's organisations.
If the child is selling soemthing i'll often buy it.
So far i haven't been abused or spat on and that's not to say it can't happen to me. It easily can. When and if it happens I guess i'll try to tell myself i don't know that child's situation. Eg pressure to get money for family.
