Well have been back one week and have the Bali blues bad. We {me, my mum& two kids} left for our holiday on Tuesday 21st August. After been delayed we finally flew out of Perth at1.30pm. Went through VOA without a problem and arrived at the Dynasty, kids where in pool by 6.30pm. Headed down to Green Garden for tea, usual good service and good food. On way back called into Jenny's Shop kids got there first set of clothes and walked out in them.
The next couple of days were spent just winding down and checking out Kuta art markets, Cenrto, and Kuta Square. On the Friday Made driver picked us up and we headed for the Volcano first time in ten years since I had been up that way. Could not get over the change especially Ubud. Had a lovely buffet luch at Volcano then headed home. Kids enjoyed it, do not think I will be rushing back up there in a hurry.
Had another few lazy days then on the Tuesday Made picked us up and we headed for the butterfly park. Was a great day the kids had a ball. Recommend you get there in the morning as all the cocoons they have collected hatch out. On the way home stopped at Carefour for a little look and a bit of a shop, stocked up on fresh fruit, photo paper and other various items. Worth a look if you have time.
Another little break then off shopping on Friday. Kids had nanny so it was shop till you drop. Made picked us up we went to Genva I love this place could go absolutely berserk in here if you wanted to and you and a suitcase the size of a sea container, picked up lots of little gifts. Then it was off to Ketuts Shop in Garlic Lane and stock up on clothes for Chrissy. Then to Galleria and Matahari picked up some great Barbie doll sets for 15 000 was rapped. Headed back home and needed the luggage trolley to get all the bags back to room but at least all shopping was done.
Saturday headed to Waterbom park as usual great fun for big and small. The kids loved the boomerang can not say the same for myself. Sunday and Monday was spent getting those finally bits and pieces, having massages, getting nails done, and tattoos.
Monday night tried to jam everything in suitcase and hope that we were not over weight. Tuesday morning had our last lovely buffet brekky, then headed down beach to give gifts and say our good byes. We were 2.5kg over but they let us through, had a good flight home arriving in Perth around 4.30pm to wet cold windy weather. Nearly walked back into departure doors and headed straight back. All in all had a great time yet again a lot busier this year than last which is great for Bali.
We mainly ate at Garis Garis very clean excellent garlic prawns. Il Cielo new Italian across road from dynasty, very cheap and clean big meals really nice vegetables. Khin Kao just go there and wish I had their toilet in my house. Green Garden still great value and Impala Seafood the best lamb chops.
Clothes from stalls varied from 20 000 for shorts to 30 000 for short and shirt set depending on quality and area. Beads and shell necklaces 10 plus 2 free for around 90 to 100 000, sunnies 25 to30 watches 25 to 45. Glitter thongs 20 to 30. Hope this is okay as I am a JBR virgin.
