I bought some little round black oil lanterns that I had seen on statues in our hotel's garden. I put lamp oil in them but it seemed to leak out through the clay, or from the wick. When I lit the wick, the whole outside of the pot flammed.
Has anyone used these before, what sort of oil should be used, or is there some needed preparation of the clay pot I must to do.?
