guests are advised of the possible shortfall??
Or is it not mentioned until they try to check out, and are then embarrased by a charge they did not expect (On this occasion the monies were sent some months prior to travel, so costs/charges were well known by the hotel).
I am sure that the many owners (if this was such a hotel) would expect that such information is conveyed to guests at the time of booking, or at lease during their stay, to avoid confusion at check-out.
I have previous, and current bookings with various accomodations, and have always found that I pay the sending fee at my end, and the managers at the receiving end factor in their receiving costs, as they have nominated the receiving account themselves.
The end result...no more to pay.
