We had our Balinese friend/driver and his wife with us nearly everyday. They would arrive in the morning and come on down to our room, his wife stayed at the room with their children whilst sitting with my friend who chose to stay in most days. This was late November last year. They did go swimming once but the water was too cold most days for them.
I think as long as you give the hotel the courtesy of knowing what is going on then there should be no problem. It will most likely be other guests that may give you a problem...ie they haven't paid to use the facilities!
