I had a similar thing happen on my US trip last year (charged twice for a single nights hotel stay) and I just phoned the credit card company and they sent out a form which had a list of reasons why you were disputing the claim and "charged twice for one service" (or similar wording) was one of the options. I did have to pay the bill initially (toa void being charged interest on the overdue amount) but the extra amount was credited back to me on the next months account :-)
