We only used cash but had CC for back up. We put all valuables in safe as soon as we arrive then split money up into each days spending money, put 100,000rp in passport for return trip....bingo time to relax! Unless you are really vague I dont see any problem with having the money on you until you get to the hotel. My husband was ultra safe and wore a money pouch around his neck. Have taken TC in the past but hate the hassle of filling out the form with passport etc. Good luck!
