We flew Wellington to Sydney to Bali end of July. Had to be at Wgtn airport two hours prior to 6.40am flight to Sydney. Get to Sydney at 8.20am and supposed ot go on Garuda flight at 10am. Told it will be delayed until 6.30 pm departure that night. It actually leaves at 7.30pm. We get to our hotel in Bali after midnight (at 12.50am )- instead of 2.25pm. Because we knew no-one in Sydney Garuda arranged for a room at an airport hotel and lunch, so at least we could take turns napping and have a shower. We lost the whole half-day of our holiday though.
