Thanx heaps to everyone who responded- this seems to be an issue for quite a few folks beside myself.
All the responses have gotten me thinking of other alternatives and I had a light bulb moment. I have contacted a local guy who hires out a minibus at generous rates. I have booked his bus to collect us from my home, drop us at the airport and collect us on our return.
I haven't got a full quote for it yet but I think it's going to work out cheaper than any other option, it will be most convenient and we don't have a lengthy drive through city traffic and then up to Newcastle after two flights, one of them overnight.
So again, thanx heaps to everyone for getting me to sus this out better. Cheers.
