There's a lot of airport shuttles that run from down here, I'm south of Wollongong, so it's about an hour or so drive to the airport. Everyone I know who's used the airport shuttle services have had problems with them running late (usually due to other passengers dragging the chain).
Last quote I got was $60 each way with a minimum of two people - I travel alone, so have to rely on a shuttle having other passengers book before I can book one at the same time. And a limo service was $120 each way, which was more than renting a car and driving myself.
The train from down here is usually not an option because they don't leave early enough to get me to the airport in time. With Garuda's 10.30am flights it might just be feasible, but when I traveled AP and the flight was 9.30am there was just no way possible to get the train there in time.
For those people further away from the airport than me, I shudder to think of the hassles they must have trying to get to and from flights!
