ok,first trip to bali,left tasmania to melbourne 4june stayed overnight at the formular one hotel,up at 4.00am next day couldnt sleep,made our way to the airport for 10.00am flight guruda to bali
good flight smooth good service a little bumpy just befor we landed
but otherwise no problems,changed from jumper to t shirt,taken of socks and shoes on go the crocks,hard to do in a small toilet,so landed and walked down into the terminal already in love with the heat
couldnt work out why people started running when we entered the terminal proper,later found out that the old hands know first in line first out,paid voa in australina dollars and got change in local rupiah,as soon as we went through customs were surrounded by porters
now this was a bit overwhelming not scary just overwhelming,anyway picked up outside by tourwest guide nad taken to puri santrian hotel,
well now what can i say about the driving in bali, so as i said its our first time and theres bikes cars trucks people everywhere,but
somehow it all just seems to mesh together with no problems,no road rage i was amazed,car horns rule he he,checked into the hotel no problems,room smelt a bit musty but otherwise just as expected,stayed in the garden wing,first thing after unpacking was a quick walk around the hotel to get our bearings,then ventured out of the hotel to purchase some thongs for my wife who forgot and had on only runners,so into the first shop we go bought a pair of leather toe thongs for 105,000 rupiah and that was after haggling,with a smile he said your first time in bali yes,ok so we were virgins he he oh boy fun times shopping comming up,back to the hotel as it was getting late or should say it felt late had a huge day,had tea in the hotel
a quick swim in the pool,tooooooooo many bingtangs so of to bed we go,
