Perhaps Garuda Management in Jakarta are finally observing the facts relating to the Australian Market to Bali.

The next step is for them to heed the advice which has been given to them over such a long period by their GM Australia & Pacific Pak Suranto and reposition flights to Cities where they will do most good to bringing Aussies back to Bali, rather than be swayed by Political Pressures which see the Perth/Jakarta/Bali flights operating consistently on minimal loadings. It's not much use having a flight between Perth and Jakarta and then have no available seats on connecting flights Jakarta/Bali vv!

According to Garuda Indonesia, the number of Australian tourists flying the flag-carrier to Bali has increased 50 percent year-on-year in the last few months.

The increasing number of Australians visiting Bali is evidence to the fact that the island resort remains a destination of choice for vacationers.

'We are delighted with this condition because it means better prospects for the aviation business,' said Garuda Indonesia's Operations Director Captain Ari Sapari in addressing the 110 Australian participants on the Mega Familiarization Tour on Friday evening.

The executive mentioned that the number Australian tourists visiting Bali are second only to Japan. He also emphasised that Garuda had been flying the route to Australia for 38 years.
