at Taman Sari, it has lovely spacious grounds, a nice pool near the beach, and you can snorkel right out the front of Taman Sari to view the experimental re-growth coral project. Nice restaurant, friendly staff and it has beauty treatments (no hair braiding though) at their spa facility. Nice rooms with outdoor bathrooms, 3 star. No phones in the rooms, but air con. Some of the rooms have refrigerators I think. A good mix of tourists stay at Taman Sari, so there is a mixture from all over the world. (how do I say this tactfully ... you don't find any pool lounge hoggers at Taman Sari anyway) Taman Sari was recommended by someone on BTF and I was very happy with my choice. I've also stayed at a smaller establishment, Jubawa Homestay, but if you want somewhere right next to the beach try Taman Sari. You can organise trips to Menjangan Island for snorkelling/diving for the day from there quite easily. Email me if you want more details.
