Just spoke to my nephew in bali the familys safe thankgoodness he is 17 years old who thought it all a bit of funny(thats what teenagers are like)but I believe being woken with balinese voices yelling and someone with a whistle blowing an inconvenience at 4am in the morning, he went back to sleep but his mum didnt see it that way and with dad pounding on the door to get out of his room they were on second floor brought it all down to earth. They said they didnt know where or what had caused the fire(even thought of a bomb)as the smoke was so thick they couldnt see and inhaled lots of soot on there way out of the building they have been relocated to the seasons hotel and told they possibly could be back tommorrow but I believe the damage(no power or water) and smell is quite overwelming so if arriving there in the next few days talk to your travel agent regarding it before you leave. It was their first night in bali and they hadnt been back since the last bomb I assured them they would be ok makes you think about the safety of hotels in bali when you are a few floors up,especially when the poor staff are panicking themselves, who helps you?Lets hope tourists and staff all ok!!!!
