Have you considered Correspondence School for the children's education? At least for a few months, it would give them a chance to adapt to the local culture and acquire more language skills. I think that each state offers this schooling for children travelling/based overseas. Sometimes retired teachers will go to the outback to offer their services to isolated children in return for board and lodging for a period of time. Maybe if you enquired through the "Queensland Country Life" or similar country-based newspaper you could get some advice/help...Magnolia
