Plane left Sydney 24th June, travelling alone for 6 days then travelling with my sister.

Note:Bad idea to go to dentist before going overseas, i went 4 days before flying and and said do just a little fillin she did but had to use extra needle as first didnt work, well my tooth was ok but face swells up, by the next day looked like i had a boiled egg shuved down my jaw, I went to dr and rang dentist and they both said i had a reaction to the needle or some bleeding into the tissue nothing to worry about!!!!! Spent night before flying in tears as i thought my head may explode on flight or they wouldnt let me on plane or they might throw me off, my son told me "mum they wont throw you off plane" he's right not good for their reputation if they toss passengers off plane when going over WA may land on sheep and squash it, then they'd have to pay a farmer compensation...By the time i was flying it had gone down and only looked like i had 1/2 an egg in face and not much pain. So off to airport.

While waiting for plane spoke to nice man, him and his family were from Charlestown. Well plane left on time. Was told by checkin lady I had an aisle seat, I didnt get an aisle seat, but did get a window seat and only had to go to toot once, so worked out better! Guy sitting next to on plane and family were from Newcastle. Plane got to Bali 1/2 late so i guess it left late. I kept falling asleep, even when plane taxing out of runway. Slept on and off the whole trip. Had fish and veg for dinner, was nice, they put my meal ontop of my butter so it melted! Was easy to spread.

Got in line and paid VOA at Bali and no trouble, gave $50 aussie note and got back 110,000rp, other people in line paid aussie dollars too no trouble. Much better deal than having to buy US dollars!

Line to go through ticket checking thingy v long was waiting about 1/2 - 3/4 in humid airport line - no music playing missed it. People in line from Newcastle too, Im from up past Singleton so I felt the rest of the Hunter Valley had come with me!

All went ok though, got through, went to funny Bali toot, got bag - easy with gold tie wrapped around it. Declared meds and cigs at customs no trouble was sent straight through. Found taxi stand easy got ticket for Legion 50,000rp much better than $85aus travel agent wanted. Was a bit worried then though as no-one came and got me, some came and grabbed my bag and said follow me and I said ok, you taxi man or porter, he loooked v sad and shrugged and said porter, i took bag and say no thanx i wait for taximan. He came not long after that and had pleasant ride and talk to hotel. He say how many times been to Bali - its my 3rd time, 1st time on my own, I must of looked like i knew what i was doing.

Dont like superior room at melasti. But ok for me, just sleepin there. I had requested Old suite but mixup at travel agent and got superior instead. Lucky i got a couple of bonus 200ml Baileys bottles from duty free, when i saw room had a few swigs of Baileys, straight from bottle, no ice think my fridge is broken... (found out later it wasn't broken)

So had more swigs and then set off up the road to go to stall where i got sim card last year. It was closed and I saw this little internet place, cheap 15,000rp for 1 hour. V hot here though and dark, could hardly see keyboard.

Note: Room is not too bad but I stayed in Old suite last year and this is completely different, if i dont compare it, its ok, but i do wish i had stayed elsewhere and got a smaller/better room, i came to melasti as i wanted to go somewhere familiar when i was on my own. I think last year was different as i had my kids with me and this seems to be more of a family hotel, still nice though, one of my sisters stayed near here though, she came back day before i left and i saw here photos, lovely 2 storey rooms, will find out where it was and go look at it as coming back with family in September and may stay there as no guarantee you get old suites here.

When to supermarket and got supplies; water, soft drink, pack of cards with sword design on back, lollies, lovely panadol extra tabs for headache etc.

Had dinner at Melasti sate small carafe white wine came to 100,000rp. Sate sauce nice but meat overcooked and v tough (better than under cooked) wine yummy.

Note: I must remember to check if hotels have special nights on, Melasti had a special night on that night with music and dancers and smogestboard dinner for less than it cost for my dinner. But i didn't check the board or ask, always a good idea to ask when you check into any hotel...

After dinner i went for swim in donut pool, lovely floating under the stars, only trouble was i usually reward myself with nice cocktail after i do a lap and bar was closed. So had to do 5 laps for nothing. Mind you my 5 laps wont get me an olympic medal i dog paddle and lay on my back and splash about but have lots of fun. After that i thought id try other pool, its deep and i splashed around and did a few laps around island until i got tired and then went to bed. End of day one.

Sorry this turned out a bit long.
