know that Im still alive and kicking...had a call from bloodyron, poor buggar has dengue fever, is laid up BUT the big news is he is not drinking ANY bintang...he must be REALLY sick. Get well soon Ron, we love you!!!!

On the homefront the weather is exceptionally beautiful at the moment, well maybe not for holidaymakers, but for me, its cool and alot of the time in the last few days slightly overcast, Ive even taken to wearing a cardi during the day, phew Im nearly a local, Im sure of it!!!!

My bule friends, have opened a hairdressing salon and beauty treatment spa, so for those of you who like a trip to the hairdressers whilst you're here, this is THE place to come to, Claire is an aussie hairdresser, and before you swarm on her you immigration people out there, she has all the correct visas in hand, so dont go thinking shes doing the wrong thing!!!

She has been doing some amazing colour work in the tourists that are popping in, not to mention the expat community, who have all been screaming for a western hairdresser.

They have an excellent masseuse (hm my spelling is leaving a lot to be desired tonite) and also a Yves Saint Laurent trained facial treatment expert. So do yourselves a little favour and visit them on your next trip.

They are reallly conveniently located, well for me they are....Jl Legian No. 427, Manik Designs is on the door but they are known as Manik Salon and Spa.

What else oh yea, I hear Posh and Becks are in town, now if that aint a boost for tourism in Bali I dont know what is, as dear old Nicno pointed out today at breakfast with indoeasy and myself, noone here on the island could afford to PAY someone like Beckham enough money to come here so to get that kind of exposure for Bali, as in, confidence in Bali well hell, its great.

Nikki just wishes her sources hadve had their cameras to shoot away when they saw them!!!!

Cant think of anything else, Janet De Neefe is madly working away on her Ubud Writers and Readers Festival, so for those of you here in September that are interested there will be some amazing speakers around from India and the topic is based around Sekala-Niskala: The Seen and The Unseen.

Some great Feature Events have been planned this year, including a Literary Dinner with the charming Kiran Desai, 2006 Booker Prize winning author of The Inheritance of Loss. Kathy Reichs, forensic anthropologist and best-selling American crime writer, will host a thrilling three-course lunch in one of Ubud's elegant restaurants. Sounds like great fun if this is up your alley that is!!!

Ok well take it easy and for those of you coming, good on ya!!! Bali is buzzing at the moment with school holidays and of course with Galungan only a few days away, there is a real party atmosphere in the air!!!

Have fun and talk to you all soon.

Shauna
