Having visited Bali seven times over the last 21 years,nothing used to amaze me more than the prolific and blatant offers to buy illicit drugs of every kind on the beaches and streets of Kuta etc.I have never been tempted myself but have known others to not listen to warnings etc and were ripped off every time.ha ha serves them right.They were probably lucky not to land in jail.Even when I took my family two years ago,my teenage sons were constantly offered drugs in front of me,just out of earshot.I have always wondered why the authorities have let this go on and on over the years to the extent that it must of turned a lot of tourists off going back,even to the extent of bad publicity all over the world.Well something or someone must of cracked because during my family's two week holiday in april/may this year,I was very happy to observe that not once was myself,my wife,our son and his newbie mate were offered drugs of any kind! Was it just us being lucky or did I scare them off last time!! I am interested to hear if other forumites have noticed this or heard of a crackdown on drug peddlars in Bali.
