Yes you can however, we always buy our "inbound" duty free on the way out and collect it at duty free on the way back. You just show your receipt at the collection counter, grab your bag and you are off to immigration without having to select your purchase or join a long queue to pay for it.
It's a great service which we have used on many occasions.
