Yeah, when I first read the message, I figured it was a p!ss-take, especially when combined with the name of the person making the post. But it's not unrealistic for someone to hear about all the "be careful of" cautions you hear, and be worried about what they were walking into. Even if the OP was having a go with their post, there could well be a couple of lurkers who were wondering similar things, so I don't think the answers given have been wasted.
